Specials thanks go to..

The Community Garden of the Capuchin Monastery in Opočno project is being implemented by the Hradec Králové Region with the financial support of the EEA Grants for 2014– 2021. Our thanks go out first of all to the representatives of the Hradec Králové Region, namely:

Martin Červíček, Governor of the Hradec Králové Region

Martina Berdychová, Deputy Governor of the Hradec Králové Region for Social Affairs, Culture and Tourism

Kateřina Churtajeva, Head of the Department of Culture, Heritage Care and Tourism of the Hradec Králové Region

Lucie Maříková, Project Coordinator of the Department of Culture, Heritage Care and Tourism of the Hradec Králové Region

Lucie Sejkorová, Economist of the Department of Culture, Heritage Care and Tourism of the Hradec Králové Region

The project was implemented in cooperation with the Norwegian partner, and we would like to thank the Head of the partner organisation Fjellugla Kompetanse, Per Halvorsen, and all the other involved representatives on the Norwegian side – Tor Einar Skogesal, Trond Solberg, Rhys Evans.

We would also like to thank the Centre for Investment, Development and Innovation for project management – especially Iveta Kazdová, Lenka Houserová and Jana Poldová.

We would additionally like to thank the representatives of the town of Opočno, its mayor Šárka Škrabalová and its secretary Renata Černá for their support and cooperation in the project’s implementation.

Our great thanks also go out to the representatives of the Museum and Gallery of the Orlické Mountains in Rychnov nad Kněžnou, its director Tomáš Zelenka and the manager of the monastery grounds Petr Kubas.

Our wonderful gardener and coordinator of the community garden, Petra Formánková, deserves a big bouquet as well.

Equally large applause belongs to Nová síť, Socionaut and the Institute of Ethnology of the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University for their opinion surveys among Opočno citizens, participatory meetings with the local public and moderation of the discussions.

Finally, we would like to thank the architect Lucie Kadrmanová – Chytilová for drawing up the monastery’s development strategy, which is the Hradec Králové Region’s vision of its direction for the future.

The list could really go long, but we would also like to thank all those who took part in the project and contributed to its successful implementation. Above all, we thank the active members of the community garden who were involved in its construction. And to the people of Opočno, who make the Monastery Garden come alive every day. We are confident that the Monastery Garden spaces will live on even after the project is complete and that in time the monastery building itself will also be revived.

Thank you!
